Current Sensors

CTS Current Sensors: Precision Power Monitoring for Evolving Industries
What is a current sensor?
A current sensor measures the flow of electric current to help optimize system performance, safety, and energy efficiency. They allow us to gauge how much power various parts are using. Whether it’s tracking motor loads in EVs, managing power in data centers, or monitoring energy in solar arrays, CTS sensors provide high-accuracy measurements with minimal phase shift.
CTS designs and manufactures high-performance Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) sensors using advanced Hall-effect technology. Our solutions support a wide range of industrial, automotive, and energy applications – including but not limited to:
Application use:
- Electric vehicles (EV), hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), battery electric vehicles (BEV), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV)
- Data centers and power distribution systems
- Solar energy and renewable power systems
- Marine Power Systems
- Telecommunications infrastructure and power backup systems
- Electric aviation
- Rail and metro systems
-

Busbar Mount Current Sensors
These sensors range from 250-1500 A and can be directly mounted on a busbar. A variety of customization options are available, such as calibration and analog output range. Our engineers can work with your team to create sensors that will fit within your application constraints. This line of sensing solutions can be as accurate as 1%.
PCB Mount Current Sensors
These AC products range from 200-1000 A and can be directly mounted on circuit board applications as well as in stand-alone mounting packages. A variety of standard current ranges are available as well as custom-specific calibration. Our engineers can work with your team to create sensors that will fit within your exact application constraints. This line of sensing solutions can be as accurate as 1%.
Clamp-On Current Sensors
Our magnetic field concentrators are designed for non-intrusive and isolated measurements of electric currents up to 200A. Thanks to the clamp-on design, these contactless current sensors can be safely installed without the need to interrupt or cut the cable. They are comprised of a soft ferromagnetic shield featuring superior material characteristics such as high linearity and very low hysteresis.

Critical Sensing Systems
Monitoring multiple parameters ensures safe, long-lasting operation in highly complex applications. Our advanced sensing modules are specifically designed to handle these intricate systems and offer superior capabilities to measure critical parameters accurately. These galvanically isolated systems have a range of support such as optimizing cell charge, improving battery life, and promoting high battery capacity collectively enhancing performance.

Cores and Shields
Two of the most important components of a current sensor are the core and shield used to concentrate magnetic flux and protect the sensor from external magnetic fields. CTS provides both in various sizes and materials along with add-on features to make installation easy.

Shunts
CTS shunt resistors are precision Cu-Mn resistors. They consist of a copper busbar with hole terminals for easy installation. These shunts are designed for precision current measurement with high thermal stability in instruments, industrial, and automotive applications.
