Pushbutton Switches

A pushbutton switch (also known as a 'key switch') is a mechanical device used to break or initiate a circuit. In contrast to tactile switches, that often employ membranes to activate a circuit, pushbutton switches are purely mechanical, typically offering increased durability and operational life.

The series 229 pushbutton switch from CTS Corporation is a surface mount device (SMD), characterized by its robust internal structure and a high degree of user customizability. It is available with three different actuation forces and can be configured as either SPST, DPST or SPST with LED lighting. Unsealed, the series 229 comes with an IP40 rating, but it is also available in a sealed version with a IP67 rating for applications operating in harsh and humid environments.

The series 229 pushbutton switch is intended for use in a broad range of applications across several industries, including the automotive market where it is ideal for two-wheeler and snowmobile handlebars as well as off-road and agricultural vehicle controls due to its reliable operation and durability. It is also a good fit for industrial panels and industrial equipment control.
